WildStar release date announced

IMPORTANT NOTE:
WildStar Release Date is announced for June 3rd, 2014. If you want to find out more about preorder start and bonuses read our latest breaking news

Today Carbine unveiled a little upsetting news for all WildStar fans – WildStar’s release is officially pushed back to Spring of 2014. Jeremy Gaffney, Carbine executive producer, confirmed that the main changes to the game depend on the feedback provided by beta players, and that all content must be polished before the launch.

It’s very dependent on our players though. We reserve the right to flip-flop around, because we have to have people in the beta going ‘Yeah!’ and we have to have all of our content in and tested in the beta, but right now we’re targeting early 2014, spring 2014.

Although the fans will be a little disappointed with this decision, it’s good to know that Carbine’s number one commitment is a high-quality game with polished content and deep top-level gameplay.

WildStar Quests Database

wildstar quests database

We are proud to announce that we have launched our WildStar quests database, in a form of searchable list of all quests found in WildStar. Each quest contains basic information, like quest level, zone, category and objectives. We went one step further and provided screenshots for each quest objective, which main goal is to help you resolve given tasks much easier.

Our idea is to provide screenshots for as many quests as we can, and you can be sure that we will provide full screenshot walkthrough for the toughest ones to complete. Since this is all manual work it might take a few weeks to enter all the information we collected during the beta period. Any suggestions and feedback are welcome, but in the meantime feel free to browse our Quests Database.

WildStar price for Standard and Deluxe Editions

wildstar edition price

Starting March 19th, WildStar fans will be able to pre-order the game on Amazon, BestBuy, GameStop and other retailer. The game is offered in two packages, and while there is no official info about the price of the game, we dug out some interesting information:

  • Gamestop has Standard Edition listed at $59.99 (gamestop) and some local retailers told us that the price in Europe will be 35£
  • Digital Deluxe Edition is 15£ more than standard and this was confirmed officially by Wildstar Twitter account.

This is still considered a rumor, but this sounds quite plausible.

WildStar Post Launch Summary

wildstar launch summary

During the yesterday’s Nexus report and some interviews after Nordic Game event numerous post launch questions popped up, and we decided to make a summary and give you a brief report about what you can expect once the game launches.

  • Monthly updates – over 200 people are working on post launch content, and another team is working on the live game.
  • Monthly game updates can be described as combination of different content styles. One month it will be a new zone with casual zone content and quests, another month might be PvP month, and the next one might be dungeon month.
  • Guild Player housing it’s currently in development
  • There will be something similar to Google Authenticator for launch, but there will be no physical devices.
  • Head start has a weird time because it will be timezone neutral as much as possible.
  • Servers will be pretty large, much larger than those we used to see in other games, but smaller than a megaserver. It will be busy, healthy servers with enough space for everyone.
  • If a server crashes, 95% of the time they don’t need human interaction to come back up. They’re built to do it themselves very quickly.
  • Probably no server statistics pages for a while, but they would like to do them eventually.
  • Game Surveillance Unit will be using active and passive spam/bot detection for Cheat detection logs called JRK logs.
  • About Multiboxing: if you’re doing it yourself without the use of 3rd party programs/bots/macros, it’s allowed. One keypress for multiple characters is not allowed.
  • No set downtime for maintenance (i.e. weekly etc). Prefer to deploy patches on Thursday or Tuesday. Probably higher concentration of patches during launch month.
  • Raids reset 10AM UTC Tuesday.
  • They have the tech for realm transfers, but they don’t know when they’ll be available.
  • Preorder keys have a grace period after head start of three days (ends June 5th 23:59) to enter full game key if you’re getting a physical copy.
