Updated Lore Maps and Skill Calculator

Ever since Wildstar launched we have been adding content to Wildstar Life and we tried improving already existing interfaces. I wanted to let you know about a few bigger changes that we made recently.

amp-updateWe finally updated our Wildstar Skill calculator with AMPs! This means that you can now pick your AMP distribution along with your skill distribution to get a proper Wildstar build and share it with the world. Remember that all data in tooltips is based on base values for Assault and Support power being 300 (this means that it will most likely differ from what you see in game because your character has different assault/support power values). We’ve also added some overall improvements to the skill calculator so you can see the builds people voted for the most for your class and we’ve added prerequisites you need to meet in order for that build to be viable. There is more work to be done, but we wanted to include our AMP update asap and we’ll focus on other features in the coming days.

Second update is more of a bug fix. Our Lore map database with map locations of all Datacubes, Journals and Tales had several bugs that plagued it. Our factions were all messed up and some maps had a problem because they showed the wrong map. We have now fixed these problems and we’ve included multiple maps per zone if that zone has major sub-zones (Farside is the prime example of this).

We’ve added hundreds of new screenshots and locations for path missions and Datacubes/Journals/Tales and we are constantly tweaking quests and item databases. We hope all these improvements will make Wildstar Life a more enjoyable experience for all of you Nexus adventurers out there.

Upcoming Itemization Changes

According to J-Tal, Carbine Studios Staff, implementation of the next WildStar major patch is completed and all fans can expect huge itemization changes and updates. This is an abridged version of the upcoming itemization changes, and more in depth explanation of the exact changes will be available in the patch notes when this patch goes live.

Assorted Itemization Updates:

  • Fixed several Elder Gem vendor items that cost Gold instead of Elder Gems.
  • Level 50 Veteran quality Rare and Epic gear on the Elder Gem vendor now all have the correct purchase requirements. Rare quality rewards now require the achievement for killing the final boss in the Veteran dungeons. Epic quality rewards now require the achievement for getting a Gold Medal in the Veteran dungeons and adventures. The exact requirement varies from item to item.

On Top of the World

On Top of the World is an exploration achievement in Deradune. Climb to the top of three canopy trees in Bloodfire Savanna to complete it. Disable double-tap dash (left of your action bar there is a small, crossed circle next to a counter) so you can make micro-adjustments while climbing. For each entry you have to be on certain location, and it’s for the best if you open the achievement tab and watch each entry as you climb up; don’t stop until it becomes green. One tree has a datacube on the top and there are two challenges connected to certain canopy trees. Challenges are unlocked as soon as you climb to the top or at the beginning of climbing.

Thursday is the new Wednesday

Crimson Isle

Due to technical difficulties Carbine failed to release their Wildstar Wednesday news segment. They made more than up for it late night Thursday when they added information about Crimson Isle region to the official website.

Located off the coast of Deradune, Crimson Isle has been neither explored nor colonized by the Dominion because of its remote location, rocky terrain and deadly wildlife. But recent long-range scans from the Arkship Destiny have revealed some tantalizing details that may soon require further investigation.

The Warrior Reborn

The Warrior is a class that was already introduced, but it’s received a new coat of paint since then and it’s time to take a second look. The warrior is exactly what you expect if you’ve played any MMO before; they have big weapons, big armor, they can tank, and they can dish out the damage. The interesting twist with WildStar’s warrior is their arm canon, which looks like it will give the warrior a few options when it comes to dealing with enemies at a range.

Head over to the official Warrior class page to get the full details straight from the developers themselves, and let us know what you think of the Warrior’s reintroduction in the comments below.
