It’s always frustrating when you want to play an MMO with a buddy only to discover their character is hanging out on another server, or “realm” as the WildStar folks like to call them. Opening different ways of interaction between different realms is a great way to get more players to interact with each other.

If you’re like us then you have been eagerly awaiting the next round of beta testing for WildStar. Well it looks like that might be sooner rather than later.
Today the folks at Carbine Studios pulled back the curtain on a bunch of system updates that they plan on implementing in the next beta session. Specifically they talk about a new level up system, a new ability loadout UI, and a new quest system.

Today, Kristen “Caydiem” DeMeza, Content Designer and a Zone Lead on WildStar, unveiled detailed information about a special type of mission – Shiphand Missions. Shiphand Missions are extended, sequential quests that can be scalable from one to five players. They are repeatable, but with random random elements to spice up the experience of going back through.

We had immense pleasure of meeting Jeremy Gaffney, Executive Producer at Carbine Studios, during GamesCom 2013 and spend some time discussing the game with him. WildStar’s business model has finally been revealed it’s buy-to-play, with hybrid monthly subscription. The standard box (physical or digital copy) will cost $59.99 (€44.99 / £34.99) and will include 30 days of free game time and three week-long passes for friends to try the game. You will be able to purchase WildStar both digitally and physically at all major retailors.
