Lore Collectibles Database

datacube journal tales map We are proud to announce that we have made available our Wildstar Datacrons, Journals and Tales database. Wildstar is part of a newly created universe and there are several ways that developers at Carbine decided to tell us their story of Nexus. Among others there is a lore library whose sections you unlock by gathering three types of collectibles – Datacrons, Journals and Tales from Beyond the Fringe. Datacrons are audio logs that give a lot of background information from the Elden, Journals are written records from various sources and Tales (or TFBTF) are comic books that you need to collect all pages of to unlock a single Tale comic.

All these collectibles are scattered around each of the zones in Wildstar. They are not marked on the map, but once you get close to them you will probably be able to see them marked on the ground.

For those collectionists and lore buffs among you this will be one of the aspects of Wildstar you will surely want to explore. To help you in your exploration we have created a database of all collectibles in all zones. We listed all the zones we have information for on this page. If you click on most of the zones listed there you will see a page with a map and all collectibles we have locations for marked on that map (like on this page for example). You can filter the markers by type and if you click on the map marker you will be taken to a screenshot guide page for that particular collectible. Bellow the map you will find a list of all collectibles that can be found on that map. You can click on the Show on Map link to mark that particular collectible on the map above. Our single collectible guides include written walkthroughs for collectible locations and in most cases screenshots to help you pinpoint exact locations of each datacube, journal or tale (you can check out one such page here). You can also read the Lore text that is shown in the game once you find that lore piece. This can prove helpful for lore buffs that want to read up on different aspects of the back story of Nexus while not in the game.

We hope you find our Lore database and map tools useful and we will strive to enter every single collectible that we are missing right now.

WildStar Post Launch Summary

wildstar launch summary

During the yesterday’s Nexus report and some interviews after Nordic Game event numerous post launch questions popped up, and we decided to make a summary and give you a brief report about what you can expect once the game launches.

  • Monthly updates – over 200 people are working on post launch content, and another team is working on the live game.
  • Monthly game updates can be described as combination of different content styles. One month it will be a new zone with casual zone content and quests, another month might be PvP month, and the next one might be dungeon month.
  • Guild Player housing it’s currently in development
  • There will be something similar to Google Authenticator for launch, but there will be no physical devices.
  • Head start has a weird time because it will be timezone neutral as much as possible.
  • Servers will be pretty large, much larger than those we used to see in other games, but smaller than a megaserver. It will be busy, healthy servers with enough space for everyone.
  • If a server crashes, 95% of the time they don’t need human interaction to come back up. They’re built to do it themselves very quickly.
  • Probably no server statistics pages for a while, but they would like to do them eventually.
  • Game Surveillance Unit will be using active and passive spam/bot detection for Cheat detection logs called JRK logs.
  • About Multiboxing: if you’re doing it yourself without the use of 3rd party programs/bots/macros, it’s allowed. One keypress for multiple characters is not allowed.
  • No set downtime for maintenance (i.e. weekly etc). Prefer to deploy patches on Thursday or Tuesday. Probably higher concentration of patches during launch month.
  • Raids reset 10AM UTC Tuesday.
  • They have the tech for realm transfers, but they don’t know when they’ll be available.
  • Preorder keys have a grace period after head start of three days (ends June 5th 23:59) to enter full game key if you’re getting a physical copy.

WildStar Tradeskills Guide

WildStar Tradeskill Guide

Thinking about WildStar Crafting professions as collecting materials and clicking a button, will lead you the wrong way. WildStars announced tradeskills as a mini-game, which offers gear creation and customization by mixing and matching different ingredients. Often the best items you can get will require components from various other sources in order to unlock their maximum potential. Apart from a large variety of tradeskills, WildStar also offers hobbies that everyone can take, no matter what tradeskills you have already chosen.

AMPs are random rewards, which tier is based on character’s level. They can be obtained as mob drops, quest rewards, or you can buy them from vendors. Before you decide to buy an AMP from reputation vendor be sure that your character achieved at least POPULAR reputation level (8000 reputation with your faction).
