WildStar Wednesdays:

Remember that teaser image that was posted on the WildStar site a few days ago? Well we finally got a chance to see what it was referring to, and damn it is glorious.

This week we got a look at the Path system. In addition to choosing a class for you character you will also choose a Path. Now your Path will not affect your combat in any way, but it will give you access to missions specific to that Path. These missions are completely optional but promise to offer some of the coolest content in the game.

Each Path looks like it will offer a bunch of fun, unique content that is sure to make the decision between them difficult. Continue reading for a list of all the different types of missions each class will be able to undertake, and let us know which one looks the coolest in the comments below. Continue reading

Closed Beta 2 Patch Notes Revealed

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for some new WildStar news. This week we get a look at the patch notes for the upcoming round beta testing. Invites for this round of testing should be going out this week, so if you have signed up to participate in the beta keep an eye on your inbox to see if you are one of the lucky few who get invited in.

During the last round of beta testing the patch notes were leaked almost immediately, hence the reason the developers went ahead and just gave the patch notes to everyone up front. Seems like they figured that if players are going to get a hold of the information anyway it might as well come from the source. Keep in mind that if you decide to look through the notes you may stumble across a spoiler or two, so read the notes at your own risk.

Video: DevSpeak-Movement

For those unfamiliar with WildStar’s DevSpeak videos let me give you a quick run down of what they are. The game developers (or Devs if you will) make a video that talks (or speaks. See where I’m going with this?) about some of the features in their upcoming game. Got that? Good, let’s move on.

This time we get a thrilling video that introduces us to an amazing feature of WildStar; movement! Okay, I realize it may not sound that exciting. However the video itself is actually pretty funny, and it does give us a look at some of the unique abilities players will be able to use to get around when their exploring the world.

Give it a look for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Stressed Out In Nexus

It’s Wednesday boys and girls, and that means it is time for some WildStar updates! This week’s WildStar Wednesday is all about the weekend stress test event that should (hopefully) be taking place soon.

In the article Craig Turner, the Live Producer for WildStar, talks to players about his job and how he’s going to be trying to manage all the players who want to get in and try WildStar out during the stress test. Now the end point is to see just how much the servers can handle, and as such it is inevitable that they will eventually crash. But the journey from letting people into the game to the fiery death of the servers is an important one; the developers need to know just how hard they can ride their servers before they crash.

You can read the full article after the break, and make sure to keep an eye on WildStar Life for more info on when the stress test will be taking place. Continue reading
