Open Beta and Name Reservation

WildStar Open Beta starts on May 8th, 2014 and runs through May 18th. During this period players will be able to register one character and one guild name prior to launch.

We’re excited to announce that on May 8th, we will be starting Open Beta! Through May 18th, you’ll be able to continue to explore Nexus up to level 30, and get familiar with exploring, fighting and questing as we make our way towards head start and launch!

As part of pre-ordering WildStar, you’ll be able to make an even bigger mark on Nexus by registering one character and one guild name prior to launch! That means your desired name will be safer than a datachron in a Draken’s dreadlocks. Try saying that three times fast.

The name reservation page will only be available from May 13th through May 23rd, so be sure you check back to the site early so you can get your top choice, as reservations are first come, first serve. We will also have a FAQ section on the name reservation page that’ll fill you in on all of your questions, including name restrictions, which servers the name will be saved to, and more.

Since most of the WildStar fans didn’t have a chance to participate in raids, I decided to use a great addon – Galaxy Library and make screenshots of Legendary Raid Sets for each class. Don’t forget that these screenshots are from beta, and there might be some changes, but you have to admit that most of them look amazing. Great job Carbine!

How to install Addons guide

Addons are small programs written in LUA programming language, that provide additional features to the game. The most popular add-ons can be found on the Curse website, where you can browse addons for different games. We also created a list of top Wildstar addons, where you can find out more about particular addons and read our notes after testing.

Automatic Installation

The great thing with Curse addons is a fact that you can install them automatically. You’ll need Curse Client addon manager that allows you to browse, install, and update your addons.

What’s in the WildStar Mystery Boom Boxes

For every day you log into the game during pre-order weekends as well as Open Beta, you will receive at launch different rewards for testing in a form of a Boom Box. These boxes contain a random assortment of possible goodies, including XP buffs, unique runes, weapons, housing items, unique costumes, mounts, and more!

During the last pre-order beta weekend, there were some server stability issues, and Carbine team decided to reward everyone who logs in throughout the weekend with DOUBLE boom boxes!

This latest WildStar update available from May 1st, comes with a handful of changes which include improvements to classes, housing system, user interface, tradeskills, dungeons and much more.

General

Housing and Shiphand missions should no longer cause large amounts of lag.
Fixed a number of issues that were causing server crashes and instability.
Players falling under the world should no longer end up getting stuck. Such situations will be auto-detected and Players will have to resurrect immediately to the nearest safe spot.
Fixed a bug which was preventing some Players from entering the world.
Effective level (used when mentoring or rallying) can no longer be outside the normal level ranges.
Story panels should no longer cause a server message bug.
Fixed some issues related to cross-realm transfers.
Players should no longer encounter infinite loading screens.

WildStar Mounts Guide

Mounts or speeders are important feature in every game, and that is the main reason why Carbine team has put a lot of effort to make this form of transportation fan and unique. WildStar will provide mounts (speeders) in a form of creatures and vehicles, which can be categorized as ground and flying mounts. Some WildStar mounts will be introduced early in the game, through quests or like a temporary mounts, but, when you reach higher levels, there will be permanent mounts with different abilities. Since the cost of the first mount is 10 gold, our suggestion is to start saving your money on time.
